Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Invoice Generator is a free, browser-based invoice and business document generator. Editing and autosave stay on your device. We do not require an account or tie your work to an identity. A server-side snapshot is created only when you explicitly click Copy link so a recipient can open a read-only invoice on another device.

This policy explains what little data does touch our infrastructure (mostly anonymous analytics, if enabled), how cookies and browser storage are used, and what your rights are.

2. Data we collect

During normal editing, form fields — including business details, customer details, item descriptions, prices, tax rates, notes, payment instructions, logos and signatures — are saved only to localStorage on your device. If you click Copy link, the current invoice snapshot is intentionally uploaded to create the public read-only link you requested.

If you contact us by email, we receive whatever information you choose to include in that message (for example, your name, your email address, and the contents of your message). We use that information solely to respond to you and delete the thread once the conversation is resolved, unless retention is required by law.

3. Cookies and browser storage

Invoice Generator uses localStorage to remember your editable invoice data, chosen template, currency, theme and UI preferences. localStorage is browser-local storage, not a cookie, and is not transmitted automatically. Copy link is the explicit action that sends the current snapshot for sharing.

If we add optional analytics in the future, it will be privacy-respecting, aggregated, and opt-out. We do not currently use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or cross-site identifiers. See our Cookie Policy for more detail.

4. Third-party services

PDF and image export happens entirely in your browser using open-source libraries — your document is not uploaded to a conversion service. We do not embed third-party fonts, analytics, or advertising networks that transmit your invoice contents.

Read-only shared invoice snapshots are stored in Vercel Blob when you click Copy link. The snapshot is accessible to anyone who has its cryptographically unguessable URL, so share that URL only with intended recipients.

5. Your rights

You can view or delete localStorage for invoicegenerators.co, use private/incognito mode to avoid local persistence, or export your document and reset the form. Public share snapshots are separate immutable copies; contact us with the exact share URL if you need one removed.

If you have emailed us and want your message thread deleted, reply to any email from us requesting deletion and we will remove it from our mail system.

6. Data retention

Editable invoice data in your browser persists until you clear browser storage, the browser removes it for space, or you reset the form. Shared snapshots persist separately so copied links remain stable and can be removed on request when the exact share URL is provided.

Email you send to our support address is retained only as long as needed to resolve the issue, then deleted from our mail system. We do not keep long-term archives of support correspondence.

7. Children's privacy

Invoice Generator is a general-purpose business tool and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

We serve the site and shared invoices over HTTPS. Share tokens are generated with cryptographically secure randomness and are not sequential, but anyone who receives a share URL can view that snapshot. Keep links private, keep your browser updated, and use device-level security to protect locally stored drafts.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the changelog page and reflected by the "last updated" date below. Continued use of Invoice Generator after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
